Okay, Ed... you wanted another free game to play...

Lord of the Rings Online F2P Beta [10:36 am ET]
Turbine announces closed beta testing of the free-to-play version of Lord of the Rings Online is now underway. Word is: "Beta participants will help shape and refine new content and features to be introduced in Volume 3, Book 2, as well as the new in-game Store, when LOTRO Free-to-Play launches this fall." If you are interested in checking this out, beta signups are still being accepted.

In unrelated news, I accepted the job in Bartlesville and we'll be moving in August... fun, fun!..

At least you can see those coming! Over here, all we can do is ride out Earthquakes. And we have been having a lot of them lately. I am thinking that California is about ready to slip into the ocean.

Pretty soon we'll be the new Hawii Opie! Land prices will jump and they'll have to build a bridge to Nevada and Oregon.

Probably not interested in Lord of the Rings... but will keep an open mind. Drew had told me about it. Still enjoying Warhammer again.

Well, I suppose congratulations are in order, Brian. What does the new bride think of all of this.

Town jumping... I'll bet I lead everyone on this list in the different towns/cities and states I've lived in!

Tricia's getting used to the idea... researching schools, houses, etc online has helped. Becca is pretty excited, too; she wasn't looking forward to living in Houston for some reason. :?

Yuppers. We arrived in Bartlesville late yesterday afternoon. We close on our house tomorrow around noon and the movers show up on Saturday to unload everything... of course, Monday is business as usual.

How are things going with you?

We're acclimating well to life in B'ville. That is except for the temperature, it's been around 105 every day this week (feels like of 115), which is hotter than I remember Houston being in a number of years. At least the humidity is lower.

Anyone wanting a house in Houston?.. if so, here's a great one at a great price... :) http://realestate.heritagetexas.com/Sit ... RESS=19011 silent spruce ct&&sort=&mode=DESC&recordperpage=10

Can you believe this?.. I wonder when the Vanguard expansion is coming?..

New EQ & EQ2 Expansions
EverQuest Players has word that beta testing is underway for EverQuest: House of Thule, the 17th expansion for the MMORPG. Word is: "As with last year's beta, the sign-up process has been made easier for you… and for us! Once you sign up, the system places you in a pool of potential beta testers. When the invite stages occur, beta testers will automatically be selected from that pool. We will, however, still be limiting the number of participants during different beta stages—the difference is that now you don't have to wait for a window of opportunity to sign up. The beta sign-up page will remain open until the beta ends. Once you sign up, you do not need to sign up again." Likewise, The EQ2 Wire has word on EverQuest 2: Destiny of Velious, the 10th expansion for the MMORPG sequel, offering a feature list and a Q&A on what to expect. Thanks Big Download.
